Learned how ethernet, token ring, and baseband topologies operate and performed troubleshooting and configurations on each. Setup batch file to map directories and distribute files to the same directory on multiple servers. Created BASIC script program to copy the required files and directories to a user's home directory and import registry settings for running Netscape, where the executable resides on the server. Also created Basic scripts to automate program installs such that minimal or no user intervention was required. Using system and group policies, setup workstation restrictions so that users could not make changes to desktop and start menu items, could not install programs, and could only run authorized programs. Setup NT 4.0 server in conjunction with NT Administration and Tech Support classes at Cecil Community College. Created users with different rights and group memberships, setup share directories, login scripts, trust relationships between domains, etc. Bought components and assembled personal computer, setup Windows 95 and Linux operating system on separate hard drive partitions. Setup home LAN consisting of a Netware 4.11 server, Windows NT4 workstation, Win95 workstation, and a Red Hat 6 Linux server. Setup typical Novell print services to allow shared printer access on home LAN. At home LAN, setup Winproxy on Windows95 to allow internet access from Linux machine on local private network. |
The following section is a carryover from what used to be included on my standard resume. It's a rather long list and has become difficult to maintain, but since this data may be of interest to someone I've placed it here as a general history.
